TORONTO -- Argonaut defensive back Neiko Thorpe, injured in Thursday nights game against Winnipeg, took to Twitter on Friday to thanks fans for their support. The import DB was taken to a nearby hospital after catching his head awkwardly trying to tackle Winnipeg running back Will Ford in the first quarter of the game at the Rogers Centre. He was released later that night after tests proved negative. "I would like 2 thank everyone 4 their prayers and thoughts 4 me." he tweeted Friday. "Im truly blessed that my injury wasnt career changing and blessed 2 have great fam(ily), friends and fans at these times ... cant thank yall enough .Godbless." Toronto (11-5) won the bruising, penalty-filled game 36-21 to clinch First place in the CFL East. There was a lengthy delay with 2:16 remaining in the first quarter when Thorpe was hurt. Players watched as Thorpe was worked on in the Toronto end zone. He was strapped onto a board -- his head immobilized -- and placed on a stretcher before being carted off. The Argonauts host Montreal (7-9) in their regular season finale next Friday. The team said it would not have an update on Thorpes status for the Montreal game until Monday at the earliest. Thats when the Argos return to practice. Toronto receiver Spencer Watt was also forced out of Thursdays game after taking a blow to the helmet. "Ouch. My head," he tweeted Friday.
