BAKU, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games weredeclared open in a spectacular ceremony at the Baku Olympic Stadiumhere on Friday night.


President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony alongwith the country's First Lady and the First Vice President MehribanAliyeva and other distinguished guests.


More than 3,000 athletes from 54 countries of the IslamicSolidarity Sports Federation will be competing in 21 sports at theGames which run through May 22.


Unlike previous Islamic Solidarity Games, the Baku 2017 willfeature wrestling Jaire Alexander Jersey , judo, boxing, shooting, blind-judo Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Jersey ,para-athletics, rhythmic and artistic gymnastics competitions. Teamsports include water polo, volleyball, handball and footballcompetitions.
